Getting Started

Follow these steps to get started with Resa Scientific Forecasting:

bulletStep 1: Launch the Resa Application Service Provider (RASP). There are several Servers available:
bullethttp://195.95.24.19:81/ (Pi Server: accessible to anyone)
bulletLessius Server (Campus Computers only)
bulletBernouilli Server (Campus Computers only)
bulletGustav Server (VPN)

You will enter a new website powered by Resa Secure Web Server (RSWS): after a few seconds, the RSWS welcome page will reload, and display the main menu of RASP. Note: if your Browser does not automatically reload, just click the picture to proceed...

bulletStep 2: In RASP, click Time Series Analysis

Getting Started

bulletStep 3: If you have a RASP Account, enter your User ID and Password. Then, enter the Launch-command of the application (Resa Scientific Forecasting): the word "timeseries" is typed into the Command textbox. Submit this information and wait for the response...

If you don't have a Personal RASP Account, you must first apply for one here. You may choose between various types of RASP Accounts: one of them is completely FREE OF CHARGE.

bulletStep 4: You should see the welcome message of Resa Scientific Forecasting. At the end of this message you will see a list of all time series that are available to you. Note: if you have no time series available yet, you should upload some in the Upload Time Series page.

bulletStep 5: Restore a time series that is available to you. The term "Restore" means "load a server-based time series into memory and make it available for analysis" (the term "Restore" does NOT refer to files on your computer!). There are two ways to restore a time series: submit the restore command in the Command textbox

or click the hyperlink at the end of the welcome message (note: hyperlinks to the time series are underlined).

bulletStep 6: Now you are able to perform time series analysis. You may do one of the following:
bulletpost the RSF commands via the Command textbox and the Submit button
bulletclick one of the buttons in the Toolbar
bulletor click one of the hyperlinks of the Parameters section

In order to correctly analyze time series data you should be (at least) somewhat familiar with the basic fundamentals of time series analysis. In future we will post several resources for the purpose of learning time series analysis.

bulletStep 7: Have Fun ;-)
